lyrics

Given all the emphasis which we place upon our collective image, you may be wondering as to our stance on anonymity within Comprachicos, especially since this tends to be a crucial component of many a collective; and my answer to that question is that, while there is no inherent need to keep our affiliation anonymous (meaning from a legal standpoint, as we do not condone illegal activity), I can see there being certain benefits to keeping participation low-key, if not secretive outright.

First of all, let me just say that I think we should expect to encounter resistance and suspicion even in the absence of illegal conduct, as we are working with somewhat of a novel model and I can see this coming with its share of inconvenience. Yet going beyond all of that, I also think that the anonymity would serve the mythopoetic approach hereinbefore outlined and support the mythical fabric of the collective by allowing us to become known more by the shadows that we cast and the footprints that we leave behind than by photographs, so to speak. This is not a rule but a suggestion, though it is a suggestion informed by a considerable deal of strategic thought into the matter and all the potential pros and cons.

Also, with Comprachicos being geared to develop into not just a franchise but a veritable social cause as such that exceeds the scope of our collective identity, it is to be expected that our symbol will come to be worn by many individuals who are not formally associated with Comprachicos, and I would like to encourage this use in the hopes of seeing our emblem take on a life of its own to where it defies the laws of ownership and appropriation thereby—not entirely unlike the peace symbol, the anarchy symbol, and similar pictographs representative of a set of ideals more so than a specific identity. Like so, I encourage others to add it to merchandise, album art, skateboards, uniforms, posters, car bumpers and more as a show of support for the cause (not so unlike an awareness ribbon).

This I see as the best possible outcome from a strategic standpoint: with the symbol being so ubiquitous to where it no longer matters who is sporting it. And I can understand how that might sound strange, but it works to our advantage in many ways.
