Along with having the potential to grant us new and novel perspectives on our circumstances and the power that we hold over said circumstances, this mythopoetic element will also play significantly into how we advertise ourselves to the public and how our legacy is passed along, being done via the narrative as much or more than via the underlying philosophy.

If properly executed, the myth with which we are working could easily be developed into an odd little franchise, spawning media and other merchandise which may then be used as a vehicle for not only our myth, but a mass scale paradigm shift which introduces new archetypes into the public consciousness and reforms society from the bottom up. This would also be a great way to fund our cause and various undertakings; and I’ve gotta say, I’m really excited about this idea, since I was initially unsure as to how to get the word out when I, myself, tend to be highly against proselytization and pamphleting, which are icky, intrusive and often tend to draw in the wrong eyes. However, the mythopoetic front changes everything, being like this large story to which all are contributing; a collective, socially-conscious myth which in many ways runs parallel to the style of the modern popular RPG. In an age dominated by superhero films and video games I do not doubt the reach that is possible via this avenue.

Something of this magnitude presents a challenge to a decentralized collective as such that we are, but I like that it has forced us to take a more creative approach and I will share with you now what I have in mind: I am imagining that our media franchise, so to speak, will come together not like a show, but like a channel; not like an album, but like a label; not like a company, but like a community. In other words: anyone at all can go on to develop some sort of product, be it a game, comic book, art exhibit, television series, dezinezinet, in mind of Comprachicos. The creator should then share their creation via an online forum where our members congregate. Alternately, it may be submitted to a local Comprachicos division, and from there it will be brought unto the network of division leaders and our affiliates will then be able to look upon that work and decide whether or not it complies with and satisfies the predetermined criteria which includes, but is not limited to, the degree to which the work complies with the ethos of Comprachicos. The collective shall then approve or deny the work, or its inclusion within our collective canon, in accordance therewith, doing so via a democratic process. The outcome will be a diversity of talent and perspective operating with a singleness of aim. Thus, Comprachicos is not like a company but the thread that binds multiple diverse but semi-unanimous companies and entities.

As the pool of media and products grows in size, I would like to see it all being bundled together and organized in the way of streaming services and more traditional systems, at which point the matter of quality control will take on a higher priority. However, I am speaking of something that is still a ways away, and for the first while I imagine it will look less like a company and more like a bunch of independent creators pitching to the member body, for it is via these means that we will come to understand our own strength and the direction or directions in which we wish to move. All decisions are to be decided by democratic means and in accordance with the principles upon which our collective was founded. As I expressed earlier, we must see to it that these efforts keep to a meaningful and symbolic plot and presence which do not incorporate meaningless superfluities for the sake of ratings, lest it all develop into yet another empty, one-dimensional project among a sea of the same.

I expect that further adjustments will have to be made along the way, as we progress and gain a better understanding of what we are working with and the various problems that can and will crop up along the way. I understand that it is experimental and quite daring, but as long as the public understands how it works I actually think that it could amount to a healthy outcome. I think it will all be worth it if the end goal is greater participation and a more accurate representation of our society and the multitudinous pockets and perspectives thereof, and that’s not something that you will get if it’s being run like a company or dictatorship wherein a small group of people project their voices into the mouths of the many.

As important is the mythopoetic element to our collective and the resultant franchise, we must understand that most of the activities and campaigns carried out by our collective will not bear the Comprachicos name, finding their way, rather, into all of the popular franchises and corporations of the world until our influence has become truly ubiquitous; and so the Comprachicos ‘brand’ represents but a single component of a larger plot—or iceberg, as it were. And since our agenda is neither dogmatic, nor does it require us to proselytize or act in a way that is overt, we are liable to go undetected in most such positions and activities, like health inspectors and restaurant critics who come for lunch without making themselves known. After all, we do not peddle an unnatural ideology but an aim and attitude as natural as life itself. And there is nothing inherently wrong with this, as our interest is only the health and safety of our society and naught more, although there is something about it all that really tickles my trickster bone, as if it is all more devious than it really is, and I just find that so amusing. And with that said, our aims can permeate the world while the name Comprachicos never even has to enter into the conversation. Can you fathom how ideal this truly is?

And as for getting Comprachicos to be viewed as a supportable brand or cause, I believe that there are a great deal of people who, whether or not they experience or even agree with every aspect of the ethos hereinbefore propounded, can stand behind the general idea of wishing to see the societal governail, as it were, taken up by those who base their understanding of progress and value on no lesser than the health and consciousness of humankind. The addition of a surrealistic and socially-conscious mythology and an attempt to market that mythology as an actual media brand is merely a mountain of whipped cream piled upon what was already a delicious dish in its own right.
